Recommendation Letter

by on Oct.22, 2009, under Personal

I had a really great time at RZ2 Games and grew by leaps and bounds in the 2+ years  spent here. Leaving this place is like leaving my home [well literally all I went back to do at our apartment was to shower and at times sleep :)] A major part and checkpoint of my journey in life, I hopefully will visit it again in the future.

Now moving to the topic of this post, the following is the Recommendation Letter I got after my 2 years of hard work….

To whom it may concern:

I recommend Tejas Shirodkar as a candidate for a very junior position with your organization. Tejas was employed in our office as an Office Peon/ Programmer from Aug’ 2007 – Oct’ 2009. Tejas has done a decent job in this position and was not a major problem during his tenure with the studio. He has some written and verbal communication skills, is somewhat organized, can work if closely supervised and is able to follow through, if pressured by management, to ensure that the job gets done. Tejas is also capable of changing the water cooler bottle and making coffee when clients visit the studio.

During his tenure with RZ2 Games Pvt. Ltd., Tejas was mainly responsible for pirating games, movies and popular television shows.  He would often spend late nights at the office playing Call of Duty 4 with his co-workers.

Tejas was always willing to offer his assistance such as it was and had some rapport with co-workers although clients tended to be turned off by his arrogant posture and strong religious beliefs.  Although not a terrorist, Tejas tends to voice support for those that most people would consider dangerous, racist, religious radicals. If you have any questions with regard to his background or qualifications, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Well obviously this was the internal version just so that we could all have a good laugh even though I was leaving. It also doubled up as warning to those who were going to head in different directions in the future, “beware folks if you leave us, this is how your real recommendation letter will be.”   ^_^

The following are the contents of the real recommendation letter:

To whom so ever it may concern

I highly recommend Tejas Shirodkar as a candidate for a position with your organization. Tejas was employed in our office as a Programmer from Aug’ 2007 – Oct’ 2009. Tejas has done an excellent job in this position and was an asset to our organization during his tenure with the studio. He has excellent written and verbal communication skills, is extremely organized, can work independently and is able to follow through to ensure that the job gets done.

During his tenure with RZ2 Games Pvt. Ltd., Tejas was mainly responsible for game play, engine and application programming.  Starting as a junior programmer Tejas quickly proved his value to RZ2 Games with excellent team work and a total commitment to the projects he was assigned. As a lead programmer Tejas was in charge of all technical aspects of his projects and successfully guided and mentored a team of junior programmers. One of Tejas’ greatest qualities is his enthusiasm for the work and the team. This type of attitude spreads to those around him and is a positive influence on the performance of the entire team.

Tejas was always willing to offer his assistance and had excellent rapport with co-workers and clients. Tejas would be a tremendous asset for your company and has my highest recommendation.  If you have any questions with regard to his background or qualifications, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Boy am I going to miss everyone at RZ2 Games.
