I just moved into my appartment today and finally have a place to call home! The first thing I wanted to try out was cook myself.

I got some basic stuff from the super market and got cracking. Before anything else let me say this – chopping onions isn’t as easy as it looks!!!

First Do it Yourself Meal

Well the food tasted good for a first attempt and I had some wine and chocolate courtesy Pete and his wife Debby. Pete is my coworker and the previous resident at the appartment. They are really kind people and left several surprises in several places and a really sweet welcome card plus note. They made sure the appartment was clean and spotless but I wonder how long it will stay like that… just the kind of effort they put in might make me pay more attention to cleanliness at home.

This is the first time I cooked a proper meal and must say am pretty impressed with myself 😛

Not being used to having a lot of salads and breads, cooking myself sounds like a great idea. I get to have the food that I prefer and also kill some time which I will be having a lot more of after moving to Germany.

Apart from that I have met some really wonderful people at work and outside and it seems like my stay in Germany is going to be extremely enjoyable.
